Determined to leave behind the days of 2-minute pop singles with the lyrics "yeah" and "girl" in them, Streatham's Nathan Persad is releasing a 6-minutes pop single... with the word "girl" in the title and "yeah" shouted over and over again. That, folks, is "Girl On The Spectrum", a double A-side with the far catchier and accessible tribute to Prince "Lisa Part II" (Nath says "email me if you wanna know what happened to Part I...")
Despite releasing 6 or 7 full-length albums, this is astonishingly his first ever single and Mile High Music are chuffed with it. On very rare and special occasions you might find Nathan attempting to reproduce his multi-tracked music live on stage with an ever-changing and suffering backing band but for the most part you will see him on stage very happily drumming in 7-piece Baroque 'N' Roll Fusion band The 286 (www.myspace.com/the286
), named after the bus that for years has haunted Nathan and long-time collaborator Spencer Hannabuss (you may remember Modern Merseybeaters The Fore? www.theforeband.com)
He has played the Cavern and The Astoria, met the cast of "The I.T. Crowd", sung on a UK top 3 single by East 17 and appeared on "Des O'Connor Tonight" with his school choir to promote it.
